About Andrew Ashfield

I was brought up on the Norfolk/Suffolk border in Harleston and came to Cambridgeshire when I was 12 years old, when my parents moved here to work.

Like a lot of people my interest in photography began when taking pictures of children, family and on holidays. I was fortunate that in my work in building restoration and manufacturing replacement joinery, I had to take photographic details which were used as reference and then again on completion, these were all taken on film and slides, this all helped in keeping my interest in photography alive.

In later years with the advent of digital cameras, computers and imaging software, I have become more serious with my photography using digital SLR cameras, editing, printing and mounting my own prints. Recently I have successfully completed two photography and imaging courses.

I have been a member of the Ely Photographic Club for the last 3 years and have been successful with several prints, my main photographic subjects being landscapes, historical buildings and natural history.
